About Me

“It is not good for man to be alone…” Genesis 2:18

My name is Courtney Hawkins, and my journey into companion care began long before I earned my counseling psychology degree. I was raised as an only child by my paternal grandparents, in a quiet, nurturing home filled with love—and pets. With just the three of us, there was always room for more companions: dogs, cats, hamsters, and even twenty-two birds once filled our days with energy and joy. Growing up in that environment taught me how to care deeply, listen patiently, and respect the unique spirit of every living being.

Being raised by grandparents gave me a special appreciation for slowing down and cherishing simple, quiet moments—sharing a story, a laugh, or just sitting together in peace. These gentle rhythms shaped my heart for caregiving and opened my eyes to the profound impact companionship can have on someone’s well-being.

I attended the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in St. Augustine from elementary through high school, an experience that deepened my empathy and understanding of people’s diverse needs. That path led me to Trinity College of Florida, where I pursued a degree in counseling psychology and graduated in May 2025. My education equipped me with the tools to offer emotional support, while my life experiences helped me connect in meaningful, human ways.

Now, I bring that blend of education and heartfelt experience to companion care. Whether it’s sharing a meal, taking a walk, listening without judgment, or simply being present, I believe everyone deserves companionship that feels sincere, comforting, and respectful.
